Ballistic Protection for Sheriff's Departments
From patrol deputies to SWAT and emergency response teams, sheriff's offices face every kind of threat a county can produce. A.A.M. (Automotive Armor Manufacturing) has manufactured American-made ballistic-resistant shields and armor systems for Military and Law Enforcement since 1998 — and we build for the way deputies actually work.

Ballistic Shields for Deputies
There is a reason our shields are some of the best in the industry: they are manufactured with superior materials and the end user in mind. All of our shields include lightweight composite cores, providing excellent ballistic protection with the ability to absorb multiple hits, and A.A.M. provides a 5 Year limited warranty on all shields. Featuring NIJ IIIa (HG1), NIJ III (RF1) and NIJ IV (RF3) protection.

Patrol Vehicle Armor Kits

A.A.M. custom-cuts every armor panel to the exact dimensions of your vehicle. There is no fixed catalog: when a new vehicle enters your fleet, we cut to spec, so a county with a mixed fleet can armor every platform through a single supplier.
Kits are available in NIJ Level IIIA and NIJ Level III, ship pre-cut and ready to install, and typically take an experienced two-person team 12–20 hours. Learn more about our vehicle armor kits.
Courthouse & Facility Protection
Sheriff's offices protect the courts. A.A.M. manufactures lightweight ballistic panels for architectural armor that can be placed inside walls, doors, desks or any place protection may be necessary. They are light enough that they don't add hundreds or thousands of pounds to floors of buildings not designed to handle the extra load, and they are all non-ricochet: the panels catch the bullet or projectile, so it does not become a threat to bystanders.
